At any point in time, there are one or two key objectives that a product is focused on. Ideally there should be measurement of these changes, either lifting a baseline metric, or trying to stimulate new behavior.ย
So measuring these are key:
- How many users are doing it
- What percentage change in the baseline
- Any economic output from these (i.e. we believe this will increase X revenue)
Useful measures to consider:
- Monthly and daily logins
- Active time in product
- Drop off points
- Amount of engagement with features and/or customizing of the product
- Context of the users: times of day, geography, device usage
- Economic output of users
These all help to give context on the performance of the product, and should highlight areas to improve.
